About Main Street Centerville

Main Street Centerville is a community-driven organization dedicated to preserving and revitalizing our historic downtown district. Since 2014, we've worked to strengthen our local economy, enhance our community's character, and bring people together.

To preserve, promote, and enhance the historic downtown district of Centerville through community partnerships, economic development initiatives, and events that celebrate our unique heritage and bright future.

A vibrant, thriving downtown that serves as the heart of our community - a place where businesses flourish, neighbors gather, and our heritage is honored while we build for the future.

The Main Street Approach

We follow the nationally recognized Main Street Four-Point Approach, a comprehensive strategy that guides our work:

Organization

Building consensus and cooperation among the many groups and individuals who have a stake in downtown. This includes establishing partnerships between the public and private sectors, recruiting volunteers, and maintaining a sustainable organization structure.

Design

Enhancing the physical appearance of downtown through good design. This includes improving storefronts, public spaces, parking areas, landscaping, signs, and window displays, while maintaining the historic character that makes our downtown special.

Economic Vitality

Strengthening the existing economic base while finding ways to diversify. This involves retaining and expanding existing businesses, recruiting new businesses, and creating economic opportunities for downtown.

Promotion

Marketing downtown's unique assets to residents, investors, new businesses, and visitors. This includes special events, retail promotions, and image campaigns that communicate our downtown's message and attract people to our community.

Part of Something Bigger

Main Street Centerville is proud to be part of Main Street America, a network of more than 1,200 neighborhoods and communities who share a commitment to creating high-quality places and building stronger communities through preservation-based economic development.
